Different types of leather products require different restoration methods to avoid affecting the quality and texture of the leather goods.
1.PU leather products
PU material doesn’t have much dyeing power; the product’s color fastness is decent, and only accidental staining can be lightly wiped with medicated oil.
2.Genuine leather products
For these products, almost all dyeing treatments use oil spraying. For simple small areas or small areas, consider gently wiping with water and then air drying. If you encounter the bark of the color-changing tree, simply sandpaper is enough.
3.The metal changes color
When metal discoloration occurs, it is mostly due to oxidation caused by exposure to air. In this case, initial repair and protection are sufficient. The method is to use Lajia oil + Tianashui, gently apply after cleaning the hardware, let it air dry slowly, and if bubbles form, add white water.
4.Zipper teeth are chipping
If excessive force causes the chain teeth to fall off, you can find teeth from the same manufacturer to replace them. Never use teeth from different manufacturers. It’s also better to throw the bag directly to a zipper factory for single-thread manufacturing, but unless it’s a very high-end leather goods factory, repair costs are higher.

5.Opening the wire
There are many reasons for leather clothing thread breakage. It may be that part of the leather material is missing during cutting, causing the thread section to be too thin and crack after long-term wear, or the stitching area is scratched during wear, causing the stitching to come loose due to external force. A piece of leather is placed inside, bonded together, and then stitched together. This ensures that the leather blocks that are stitched again will crack due to external force.
6.Scratches
Scratches usually occur when a small piece of leather comes off and cracks appear, but the leather is not missing. In this case, a remedial measure is usually to place a piece of leather on the inside, then apply water-based leather glue along the crack direction, press and dry it, and finally spray leather color-altering agent to cover it up. Apply oil and polish.
